I arrived 5 hours before my flight to Singapore departs Heathrow, so I had plenty of time to explore the lounges in Terminal 2. I have been to all the Star Alliance lounges thanks to my Star Alliance Gold status (and the fact that I was flying Business)
Lufthansa’s lounges (Senator and Business) are located just outside of security and are the only lounges serving the A-pier (short-haul flights). So it is bound to be very busy, yet it is a very good lounge with plenty of seating and good food. I would rate it highly but the fact is that there are better ones in B-pier.
I locked my suitcase in the lockers by the entrance, and then off I go to explore the lounge!

Food offerings are quite similar to those in the Business Lounge, but there is the afternoon tea selection available in addition to the hot/cold food offering:
Better booze:
My selection today: Tea, truffles, cookies, cakes, assorted desserts, and bitter lemon (with more lemon) – I then worked for more than an hour on my laptop
The Emirates A380 took off outside:
No visit to a Lufthansa lounge would be complete without indulging myself in German beer:
In addition to the Prosecco offered in both lounges, the Senator lounge also offers a German sparkling:
Verdict – Very Good
The Lufthansa Lounges are very good – good and comfortable seating, excellent wifi, and decent food and wine offering. The weak points are probably the lack of champagne unlike the three other Star Alliance lounges in the B-gates and that this lounge can get very crowded at times (though the same can be said of the Singapore Airlines’s lounge in B-gates, but more on that later).
Definitely a good place to rest!
